I’ve been a civil engineer for most of my career, working on water infrastructure, transportation, and development projects. I’ve done everything from design in AutoCAD Civil 3D to process improvement, training, and mentorship. Over time, I was drawn to training and helping people work more efficiently, eventually transitioning into learning and development. I love simplifying processes, improving workflows, and creating training content that helps people understand concepts more easily and apply them in a practical way.
I find it rewarding to create systems that make people’s lives and jobs easier. Seeing the impact of well-designed processes or training is really fulfilling. I love knowing that what I do helps people feel more confident and work more efficiently, whether it’s improving their workflow or simplifying complicated tasks.
When I’m not working, I love spending time outside—camping, paddleboarding, traveling, and hanging out with friends and family. My favorite thing is spending time with my husband, our daughter, and our dog, whether we are out on an adventure or just relaxing at home. I also enjoy interior design, woodworking, finding great places to eat, and organizing—yes, I do this for fun. Music is always part of whatever I’m doing, whether it’s going to concerts or just having something playing in the background.
Where would you take a month-long road trip?
I would take my husband, daughter, and our dog to explore the National Parks around the Utah, Idaho, Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana area.
What do you listen to while working toward a deadline?
Circles album by Mac Miller.
What valuable lesson did you learn from your parents?
The importance of honesty and authenticity. Also, the fact that we’re all just humans trying to do our best. You are no better than anyone else, but you’re also the best thing ever!
What’s the best live music show you’ve seen?
This is a hard one! Kendrick Lamar, Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers tour, 10/10 show for sure.
What is a work-related book you’d recommend?
It’s a tie between Action Speak Louder by Deanna Singh and Crucial Conversations by Joseph Grenny, Kerry Patterson, Ron McMillan, Al Switzler, and Emily Gregory.
