Grayling Engineers (Grayling) is currently seeking candidates for a mid-level civil engineer (5+ years of experience) position in our Vancouver, WA office.

Job Description                          

Essential duties and responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • Design and manage water and/or wastewater infrastructure projects, including pipelines, pump stations, and storage facilities.
  • Prepare and review engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and permits.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Stay updated with industry advancements, codes, and regulations.
  • Network with clients, agency personnel, and colleagues to build/maintain professional network
  • Maintain relationships with clients to develop future opportunities
  • Identify project opportunities and actively participate in proposal and interview processes when necessary

Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field from an accredited college or university or equivalent education is required
  • Must have minimum five (5) years of relevant civil engineering experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in good standing is required (Washington and/or Oregon or ability to become licensed if out of state)
  • Experience working on municipal and public sector projects (state, county, city and federal)
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to develop productive, long-term relationships and communicate with clients, peers, multi-discipline teams, and management
  • Proficient in relevant software and tools, such as latest AutoCAD and Civil 3D 
  • Seeking a team-oriented individual who is self-motivated and has excellent verbal and written communication skills
