Water Main Replacement – Pioneer to Shobert Lane

The downtown area of the City of Ridgefield (City) consists of the City’s original water distribution system. As the original part of the system, the infrastructure in this area is the most aged and often undersized compared with newer parts of the water system. The City has proactively pursued opportunities to replace this aging infrastructure on an annual basis through the pursuit of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding source.
This project continues that pursuit by replacing aging infrastructure in the downtown area. The work will take place within a four-block area and include the replacement of 1,100 feet of 8-inch-diameter ductile iron pipe, 1,160 feet of 6-inch-diameter ductile iron pipe, and 17 water services. The City intends to abandon the existing water mains after this project.
