We are looking for a CAD Technician to join our team in the Vancouver, WA office, and we welcome applicants at all experience levels—from motivated juniors to seasoned professionals.

What You’ll Do:

As a CAD Technician at Grayling, your responsibilities will depend on your experience level:

For Junior CAD Technicians (1-3 Years of Experience):

• Prepare detailed CAD drawings for civil infrastructure projects, including pipelines, pump stations, and site layouts.
• Assist with construction documents, such as plan and profile sheets, grading plans, and detail sheets, using AutoCAD (Civil 3D).
• Follow established CAD standards and workflows to ensure consistency across projects.
• Collaborate with engineers and senior team members to refine designs and incorporate feedback.
• Maintain organized project documentation and resources.

For Experienced CAD Technicians (4+ Years of Experience):

• Lead the development of detailed CAD drawings and models for complex civil infrastructure projects.
• Mentor and guide junior CAD technicians on best practices, standards, and workflows.
• Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) on CAD deliverables to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of company CAD standards, templates, and workflows.
• Collaborate with engineers to define project scopes and troubleshoot technical CAD issues during execution.

What We’re Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications (Experience Level-Dependent):

• Junior CAD Technicians: 1-3 years of experience in CAD drafting in civil engineering or related fields.
• Experienced CAD Technicians: 4+ years of experience, with advanced knowledge of alignments, grading, pipe networks, and volume calculations.
• Familiarity with civil engineering concepts, particularly water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Experience with additional tools like GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS), Revit, or Navisworks is a plus.
• Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining company CAD standards, templates, and workflows.
• Associate degree or certificate in drafting, civil design, or a related field preferred.
