I was introduced to drafting as a high school freshman and quickly advanced to upper-level courses, working on projects ranging from 3D mechanical models to architectural plans. After graduating as the Outstanding Senior in the CADD department, I began my career drafting low-voltage fire alarm systems and expanded into access control, CCTV, paging, and intercom design.
I supported design teams by managing priorities and improving communication as project demands grew. With a sister company, I trained in fire protection codes and electrical engineering principles. I later joined a larger firm to gain broader industry experience.
I’m certified as a NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level I Designer and an Autodesk AutoCAD Professional. These credentials helped me take on complex, multi-phase projects, managing both current and historical designs.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time in nature—birdwatching and photography by day, stargazing by night. I love discovering new restaurants with friends, and I occasionally join a tabletop RPG group or dive into a great board game for some creative fun.
What are your top three travel destinations?
Den Haag in the Netherlands, anywhere with dark skies (Bortle 2 or lower), and Basel, Switzerland.
In a parallel universe, what is your profession?
In a parallel universe I work in aerospace. Maybe as an engineer, maybe as an astronaut! Probably a parallel universe for each.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
Assisting in the design for Portland International Airport. It’s uncommon for someone as young as I to see such important projects.
What’s the best live music show you’ve seen?
Each concert is special; however I recently saw “Flipturn” at the Crystal Ballroom and must give them the honor!
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Don’t worry so much, everything that happens was all that could have happened.
